The Eliza is designed by the award winning Chicago architect Stephen Katz in 2014 who wanted to create the perfect looking ceiling fan. He has hit a chord as it was an instant hit and is loved by fellow architects around the world with a unique look like no other. The Eliza blends a beautiful technically derived form with superior function and movement.
The unique blade shape is designed to maximize air movement at the outer edge of the blade. The result is more efficient air velocity rings, less blade drag and greater motor optimization. Equally important is Eliza’s stationary visual statement which combines modern utility with minimalist geometry. It’s sharp clean stealth bomber-like surfaces. It also lives up to expectations by being almost invisible in white against a white ceiling. It is also available as a hugger version for lower ceilings.
The high quality DC motor is one of the quietest on the market (made in China by aTaiwanese company with Taiwanese design, controls and QC) so is ideal for bedrooms where any noise even of the air moving could be disturbing in the quiet of night. It can be run on low-speed to ensure a slow gentle laminar airflow with silent movement but turned up full in the daytime when more cooling is required and the slight wind noise not noticeable. The DC motor is also very low-energy using just 18 watts at full power for the 42″ size.
